WELCOME 2012!!!!

I have some layouts I created at the end of 2011 along with a couple of cards.
I am not making any resolutions for the new year as I never seem to accomplish the resolutions, so I would like to make some crafting goals, first I want to complete more challenges on some of my favorite forums, I want to make a kit club or manufacturer design team, I want to make more posts on my blog , I want to be more diligent in study
of the bible, these are just a few of my goals for 2012.

Now here are some layouts I did at the end of 2011.

This last one is an altered chipboard that I have hung in my scrap area for things.

Hello everyone,
I hope everyone had a blessed thanksgiving and enjoyed your day.
A big shout out to the men and women who serve our country and those who have served and especially those who have been injured or given their life, thank you for my freedom.

I would like to share a few creations with you and feel free to give me feedback by a comment.

This is a card I made using some basic grey, twine a thank you stamp and digital flowers colored with Prisma, Crayola and also used some glitter pens.

This is a layout I made using a technique for flowers that are cut and layered I also inked the petals and used a glitter pen on them. The paper for flowers and background and chipboard letters are from Bella Boulevard Loverly collection. I used some misc rubons, buttons, brads and some twine.

Today I am posting a layout and a card using lace from Martha Pineda's Etsy Shop . Martha is having a 50 percent off sale in her shop just use the code Move50 to get the discount.
These projects were created for the Clear It Out Challenge Blog and here they are. First is a layout and the trim I am showcasing is a black lace used in two places on this layout,

And a Halloween card and the black trim used once again is just perfect on this card.

Hi friends,
I am sharing some of my scrapping creativity for this week,
First of all for Sew Many Cards I have the following for you to enjoy, the first one is our challenge for this week, using eyelets. I used 4 eyelets and inserted some older twine and tied a button on top. I used Duncan with letter and the sentiment is also from Sew Many Cards. The papers are from my stash.

Next is the dollar image for today at Sew Many Cards and it is a butterfly with ribbon. All month the Friday image is ribbon images for breast cancer awareness month. I colored this image with my prismacolor pencils and OMS. I don't recall where the sentiment is from and the pp is also from my stash and the backing of the sentiment is from the reverse of the pp.

Here are two layouts that I created this week, both for Cookin Up Creations Blue Plate Specials.This one is using the title of the song If I Saw You In Heaven and the picture is my son. The black lace is from Martha Pineda's Etsy Store,it is so pretty.
Below this is a challenge using lyrics from On Eagles Wings and is a favorite of mine.

Reflections October 3rd EEK

I can't believe it has been a month since my last post. I think I must have been a little under the weather not to mention the fact that we did have internet issues all month. We are hoping it is fixed now and can get back to our normal surfing and communicating with family and friends.

Since Saturday was World Card Making Day I did manage to create a few cards and would like to share them with you. The first one is a Halloween card called EEK and I made it for the I Create For Fun blog of which I am a dt member and I am also entering it in the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge. The Girl Ghost and the word EEK! are digi elements from My Graphico. The lace is
from Martha Pineda's Etsy Creating is Fun shoppe!

The second card I would like to share with you is a Fall Card, the leaves were all made with my Cricut and the Doodlebug Cartridge. The Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and Cardstock is from Recollections and PP is scraps....

With fall upon us, I will be turning over a new leaf and will be posting more frequently and will have more projects to show......Many blessings and have a wonderful week......

I just returned from a vacation in upstate NY, visited my brother and other relatives and friends. The weather was fantastic and I forgot how hot Texas was until I returned to Houston and the heat and humidity.
Here is a mini backpack album that I created for What's New Wednesday at Cookin Up Creations, here is the front view.

This would make a cute mini album for those back to school pictures.

I have also started to list some new items in my etsy shop HERE and below is one of my new creations a bottlecap crochet trivet. This can be used in the kitchen, dining room and even the bathroom anywhere you need to put something not directly on a countertop. I will also make these in a special color to match your home decor.

Happy 4th of July, I hope everyone has had a wonderful day and enjoys the fireworks unless they are banned where you live. I will be watching the fireworks on tv, Houston has a show called Freedom Over Texas and will be having a huge fireworks display.
Take a moment today and pray for our soldiers as they serve our fabulous country the great USA.

Hi,
Here are a couple of cards I have created for Sew Many Cards, I hope you enjoy looking at them.

The second card was created using the freebie image for Friday which will be available tomorrow at Sew Many Cards.
I have been busy knitting some hats, trying to get some things created for the KraftyChickz site and ready for some craft shows more than likely this fall.
I also have been working on some new packaging for my crochet flowers, here is my latest package and I am including a couple of crochet leaves (more available upon request) and buttons and brads that can be used for the center of the flowers.

Of course the flowers are available in several colors, this is just a sampling.
Well thats it for today, will be back soon with more pictures of my creations.

Hey everyone:
I thought I would share a few cards with you and since we are looking at St. Patrick's day right around the corner, I have created a couple of cards for Sew Many Cards and am sharing with you.
The first is created with the St. Patrick's Day Bear Image:

The second card is created with images from the Sponsor for the week The Cutting Cafe.

Now I have a birthday card I created using the Basic Grey Ambroisa Papers.

And Lastly is the inside of the birthday card, I recently saw an article about finishing the inside using some of the papers from the outside of the card, so I used the Ambrosia paper and also used some for the sentiment which is from The Cutting Cafe.

Can you believe it has been 2 weeks since I posted here on my blog, now that is just not right. In my defense I have been feeling under the weather and Monday went to the doctor and have Bronchitis with a touch of Asthma and received 3 medications and return in two weeks for a followup and a physical.......

Anyway I missed posting my Valentine Cards and I made several so here they are a couple of days late.
I hope you enjoy them.

I will be posting some layouts in my next post and also have done a few digital ones, although not the best yet
relearning the digital world and also got a new computer and do not have photoshop so am using a couple of different programs along with powerpoint, a learning curve to be sure.......

Can you believe it is 2011, how quickly the time goes by. I would like to show you a couple of cards I made for the Sew Many Cards team.

Our first card was of a flag and I just love this flag with the eagle and have made several cards with it. The image is colored with Prisma Color Pencils and OMS and I also used Sakura Gel Pen on the Red stripes on the flag and for the thank you. I inked the layers to give it an antique look, the ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons.

My second card for Sew Many Cards is this cute one with the sick bear. It is also colored with Prisma Color Pencils, added a butterfly and flower with a gem.

I have a couple of more cards created for Colorful Creations. The first one is a winter wonderland card, and it has lots of glitter on it. The papers are all from the DCWV winter collection and the cs is bazzill, ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

This was another winter card and the little bear is on the sled wishing for more snow......The image is from Sew Many Cards and colored with Prisma and also used stickles on the hat and scarf.

The last one is for a challenge at Colorful Creations and is a tag card reprsenting January and the New Year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011

Now isn't this the cutest monkey toasting in the New Year, I think his hat is a little big for him but thought it was cute anyway. Both of these images are from Sew Many Cards Shop there are some very cute digi stamps in the store.
I had this January page for awhile and knew one day I would find the perfect thing to do with it, it is mounted on black bazzill cardstock, the images were colored with a variety of Prisma and Crayola colored pencils and OMS blending solution, I also used some zig markers on this and of course stickles, I also used Glossy Accents on the monkeys eyes and the balloon.
I hope to keep my blog up to date in 2011 and showcase some of my cards, layouts and altered projects.
I also am looking forward to 2011, with a new great grandson arriving the end of January.
Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year and stay safe if you are celebrating other than at home. We will be staying home and I hope to stay awake for the midnight celebration on tv.........

I can hardly believe it has been a month since I posted to my blog. I guess I just got caught up in things and did not do as I wanted to and that is post my creations, mostly cards. My daughter Brenda and I held a scrapbooking class for some of the women she works with and they have become addicted, yippee.

Here is what we did for the first class:

And the explosion box, they had fun making these and we had fun teaching the 3 gals.

For the second week we did a double page layout and that went over really well.
My pictures are not good as it was raining and gloomy so had to take inside and they did not come out well but here they are.

Well I cannot get them to come out side by side but I think you get the idea, I tried to take a picture of the double page layout, but that just did not work,....

First is my card of the week for Sew Many Cards the challenge was to create a card using a turkey and a punch. The turkey is from the Sew Many Cards Shop and for the punch I used my fiskars border punch and punched the sentiment.

Hello my friends and fellow scrappers,
Today is Friday the 13th so thought I would show you some of my latest creative endeavors.
Nothing fancy today but some nice things and ways to earn some scrappy goodies.
First of all this is my challenge for the crop at From Here2Scrapternity , the crop is from today the 13th through Sunday the 15th, so come on over and join us for some fun challenges, games and prizes. Here is a layout and card for my challenge.

Hello friends and fellow crafters,
Can you believe it is August, not too long and it will be Christmas once again. I thought I would show you what I have done this weekend, not alot and need to do alot more to catch up on my challenges.
The first card I want to show you is my somebunny loves you and the image is from My Graphico.

I will be entering this card in the Card Patterns challenge and I used their Sketch 74 for this one.
Isn't she the most adorable girl and that baby bunny is so very cute. I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and used OMS for blending.
I also added some bling and black rhinestones on the girl and bunnies eyes.
The buttons, I also added a dew drop to each button and pp is from my stash.
The ribbons are both from Really Reasonable Ribbon and I used the green jute to make it look like the girl is sitting in the grass.
I also will be using this card for my coloring medium challenge on Colorful Creations.

Here is my second card, this is a birthday card I made for dh son, I have not found a specific challenge for this one yet.

This card is my man card, I used a Kraft card base, some bazzill cs, the cork buttons are from Pink Paislee, the cake is a diecut sent to me in a swap, the ribbon is from my ribbon stash as is the stamp I used for the sentiment. Also used some rhinestones on the cake, and brads on the sentiment.

My final creation is a layout for the sketch challenge at Colorful Creationns, the sketch is from Liz Quaterman, For this layout I used Bo Bunny papers, ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons, Flowers are from the Prima collection, The alpha's are thickers. Hello my fellow bloggers:
I thought I would share a few of my latest creations with you and hope you enjoy them. I would appreciate any comments and or criticism of my work......So without further ado here they are:

First a card created for Cardz TV and also for a challenge at Ch{all}enge Masters

The next item is an altered paint can, again for a challenge at Ch{all}eng eMasters, for this one I covered it entirely with ribbon and fibers, for the lid I used lots of seed beads around the rim, some other beads inside and a paper rose flower I made, this was lots of fun to make.

My last project is a spiral notebook I covered for my BSF (BibleStudyFellowship) class that starts in September, wanted something special for my notes.

I just loved this paper from Marks Paper Company and this was the perfect piece for it, I also used the wonderful vinyl rubons from EAD Designs...

Reflection June 25 SMC Weekly Challenge

Welcome to my weekly challenge at Sew Many Cards, our challenge this week was Anything Goes. I made a bookmark card and used Toga Spring another great image from Angela's shop at Sew Many Cards. I used Toga for the front of the card an colored her with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with OMS, The card base is embossed cardsock from Making Memories I colored it with green ink from Colorbox. I then added paper flowers and dew drops in the center.
For the bookmark I used Dino the Dinasour reading a book, thus for a bookmark. He was also colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS blending. I also used some Basic Gray pattern papers. I showed three views so you can see all of the card.

Reflections June 24 SMC Outside Challenge

Hello my friends, I have created another card for you to see. On this one I used the Freida the frog from Sew Many Cards Shop and Prismacolor pencils with OMS. I created this for a challenge at Colorful Creations . The challenge was to use handmade flowers. On the pink one the bottom flower was cut from pattern paper, I then added a handmade flower, colored with a pink marker from Martha Stewart and then I used Pearl smooch on it, then another smaller pattern paper cut flower and a button finishes this one. For the red flower I used two handmade flowers misted with some red spray, I then added the red handmade flower sprayed with the red spray, I used the Pearl Smooch again for the details on the flower and finished with a button. I used some blue lace on top for the sky and sat Frieda on some green ruffled ribbon.

The second part of the challenge was to use a quote and thought this one was perfect, it fit Frieda as she brings a smile to my face. I also added another handmade red flower with the Pearl smooch and topped it with a small flower cut from pattern paper. I am also entering this in the following challenge Crazy4Challenges C4C42 I hope you have enjoyed seeing Freida in all the flowers.

Hello all you treasured dreams readers, I am wishing each of you a blessed day.I want to share a few things that I have been creating and hope you like them.

This is a bookmark folded card that I also created for a challenge at Colorful Creations. This is for my potpourri group and it was great fun to make. The base of the card is Making Memories embossed white cardstock that i inked to bring out the design. All of the embellishements were created with the Cherry On Top kit from Caffinated Cropper.

This is a mini note pad and journal that I created for an altered challenge at Colorful Creations.
I think they came out rather pretty although the colors are pretty close they always look better in person. The flower is one of my crochet creations and I thought it was perfect as an embellishment on the page.
I hope you enjoyed my little creations, I just wanted to share with you. You know there will be more coming your way as I keep creating for the design teams I am with, this is a good way to be involved in the scrapping world and have a variety of creations. Have a great day.

Hello Friday and welcome to another Sew Many Cards Callenge. Our callenge this week was to create a folded card with a 4th of July, military or patriotic theme.

Here is my card and it is Owen saluting a fallen
soldier, I colored this with Prismacolor pencils and OMS for blending. I used red, white and blue and some patiotic papers. I added some sparkle with the blue glitter cs that I used to mount Owen on. The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Reflectons June 11 Smc Weekly Challenge

Welcome to Sew Many cards weekly challeng, the challenge this week was Christmas theme anything but a card. For my entry I chose the Bear in Stocking and I made gift cards from them, they came out sew cute that I am going to make more gift cards from some of the other Christmas Images in the
Sew Many Cards Shop Angela has several holiday images in the shop and they are all fantastic. I can't wait to make my christmas tags.

As you can see I printed these images in two different sizes sew they will fit different size gifts, and if I have a big gift I can print one on a page and have a blast coloring that tag. I colored all of these with my prisma colored pencils and OMS except the light green and pink one and I used Crayola pencils for this one and OMS for blending. I used glitter on the stockings to make them a little glitzy, I also used glossy accents on the eyes, heart for nose, and the heart in the heel of the stocking. I used crackle accents on the small bears to give them a more fuzzy, hairy look. I put these on a piece of cardstock just for the picture. I hope you enjoy my gift tags.....

Hi there, the perfect greeting for my card for the SMC outside challenge for this week. The image I have used is Pandu Panda one of the new images in the Sew Many Cards Shop isn't he just the cutest bear. For this card I used the following products:
Yellow cardstock is from Office Depot, the black cs is Bazzill,
the ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon, the flowers are primas that I layered and the bling is misc black bling, the alphas are My Little Shoebox, the Panda Bear is Sew Many Cards the bear was colored with crayola and prisma color pencils and OMS blending solution.

I made this card with the stamp Halen In Cup I used Sketch # 65 from Card Patterns, the rest of my recipe includes a kraft premade card from Jillibean Soup, Bazzill CS and PP from Black Market Let It bloom series, the ribbon is from my stash, I used Prismacolor pencils with OMS, stickles gold glitter, misc flowers and brads and the rubon sentiment from Deja View.

Happy Friday and its time for another Sew Many Challenges
Card challenge, and you can find the challenge HERE The challenge was anything goes, so guess what anything goes, you really should check out these challenges, they are sew much fun.

I found a color challenge for pink, brown and yellow and it was a challenge as I love pink and brown together but throw in yellow and that changes everything. I started with the SMC digital image of the girl with the elephant, you can find this image HERE in the Sew Many Cards Shop, you should really check out all the great images that are in the shop, and the prices are just right and will fit any budget.

I just had to make a pink elephant with my little girl giving him a yellow heart, she is sitting on a heart pillow and it looks orange but it is a shade of yellow and I though tit would look good in yellow, so I should have used a lighter shade of yellow, I colored my image with prismacolor pencils and OMS. My image is on the middle of a white doily that I inked with some brown ink. The pink paper is basic gray, the yellow print and brown paper is scraps from the Kneeezy Breeezy kit by Caffinated Cropper. The yellow ribbon is misc ribbon from a rak, the pink flower is prima and the rhinestones are gold ones. The brown card base is kraft paper.

Reflections Sew Many Cards Outside Challenge May 17

I had two birthdays yesterday for a 3 and 7 year old boys, so I thought how about some cute animals, so I did the caterpillar and frog images and the sentiments are also from Sew Many Cards Shop HERE, and the perfect opportunity to enter these in the outside challenge for Sew Many Challenges, and you can see their challenges HERE, check the shop out and challenges, they are sew much fun and you will love the shop.

I had another card planned for the outside challenge but these just happened, the cards were both made from my stash..The papers are from the Kneezy Breezy kit from the Caffinated Cropper, the presents and stamps are from my birthday card stash drawer, I used Prismacolor pencils and OMS to color the images and the sentiment was colored with a Sakura gel pen .

How do you like my first Easel Card, I had alot of fun making it and I will be creating more now that I have the hang of making the easel card. I created this card for the Sew Many Cards Challenge this week which was to make an easel card. For this card I used some new Basic Grey pattern paper, the base is some grey bazzill cardstock, the pleated ribbon is from pink paisley, the green graph paper is basic grey, I used fancy pants rubons on the background oval for Owen with flowers and you can find him HERE. I colored him with prismacolor pencils and OMS. the base of the card is again basic grey papers and pink paislee stitched pleated ribbon and the letters are mini letters by making memories. The ribbon at the top of the card is misc from my stash and I used my new bow maker to make the bow, fun to use....You really need to check out all the great digital images at the Sew Many Cards Shop HERE.

Well it is almost the weekend and I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and has some fun creating some great cards or working on your favorite craft scrappy project. Hello and happy Wednesday and the middle of another blessed week..

You guessed it another card for you to view and comment on, I welcome all comments as that encourages me and helps me want to create more.

I created this card as an outside challenge for Sew Many Cards and also for a color challenge on Scrapbooking and Crafting Friends. The color challenge was to use
yellow, white, brown, orange and green.
I believe I accomplished all these colors on my card. The digital image in the middle of the flower is Halen from HERE. I colored the image with my PrismaColor pencils and blended with OMS, the flowers and leaves are from Prima, I used DeJa View rubons on the white leaves to make my sentiment, I also used popdots to pop up Halen my digital image. How do you like this flower card. For the card base, I used a round card shape and traced the flower petals around it from another flower card, as it was not the right color for the challenge.

On another note, this morning I was blessed to attend the introduction to BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) for the fall class, and in that semester we will be studying Isaiah. I am excited to be in an in depth bible study and love the book of Isaiah so am looking forward to the study.

Reflections May 7 - Sew Many Cards Challenge

Our challenge this month was Any Christmas Project, I found this Christmas Cactus in the Sew Many Cards Shop Here, so take a peek and see all the images they have in the shop. After I finished the card I thought wouldn't this make a cute ornament for the christmas tree, so I just may have to make one for the tree,

For this card I used prismacolor pencils with OMS for the coloring, I also used Stickles on the bulbs and on the white brim and pompom on the Santa Hat. You can just see a small corner of the base of the card wihich is Pink Paislee Paper, red cs by Bazzill, Song lyrics paper by Creative Imaginations. the green sparle thread and Believe ribbon are from my stash.

I just love this Cactus since I live in Texas somehow this seemed appropriate to use for this challenge,and the ribbon with believe just makes me think of Christmas as a child, believing in Santa and all the wonderful things that we believe in as children.

Its not too early to think about your christmas projects and have fun working on them. I have several ideas in mind, so at least I am in the planning stage for now. Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.

Hello my friends, I wanted you to see this card I created for a card challenge.

The image is very special to me as it is such an honor to created a card to thank our troops for their selfless service to our country. Without them our freedom would be in jeopardy, and I will always be grateful and remember the sacrifice of my nephew Jeremy who gave his life for our freedom, so in remembrance of Jeremy I dedicate this card to him.

Another challenge entry this one is for Card Patterns, Sketch 60.
I used black and white and the girl with hearts digital stamp from Sew Many Cards, you can find the image in the shop,
here. I colored my girl with prisma colored pencils and blended with baby oil.
I also used misc black and white cardstock and misc flowers, the sentiment is from Deja View, the ribbon is grosgrain misc ribbon from my stash. As are the buttons, the red button on the white flower has black wire in the button holes instead of thread. The black and white flower has a red rhinestone in the center. I cut the oval from a piece of heidi swapp paper and used the Sakura black gel pen to outline it.
Anothe fun card for me to create. Enjoy your day.....

Here is another card for the Sew Many Cards outside challenge, I have this card entered in the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking Card Challenge.
Isn't the image sew cute, I just love her and had a blast coloring her and her little friend Cammi, you can fine this image at the Shop for Sew Many Cards
here.
For this card I used more product from the Beeez Kneez kit: kraft cardstock, green pp, and the grograin green ribbon, the yellow paper is frommy stash as are the green dew drops. I used white cs and inked with colorbox ink to hold my girl, she is pop dotted and I colored her with prisma colored pencils and blended with baby oil.
I am having sew much fun coloring the digital images and learning new techniques as I go along. The great thing about digital images is you store them on your computer, print out the size you want and then color.

I used bazzill cardstock, large button is from the IASC store, the crochet flowers are my creations, misc tag, the image was colored with Crayola colored pencils.

Reflections April 2010 - SMC Challenges

Thank you for visiting my blog today, I have a couple of cards to show you that I had fun creating. The first one is this girl with hearts giving them to her mother for mothers day.
The Happy Mother's Day card is based on a sketch from Sew Many Card Challenges. Isn't she the cutest thing, Girl with Hearts can be purchased from the Sew Many Challenges Store here .
I am not happy with the scan here as the stickles I used seem to have distorted the coloring. I used the Prisma color pencils, I also mounted the girl on Bazzill dotted swiss oval cut with my cricut, the crochet flowers were created by me, I used a zig marker to make the sentiment look like the girl wrote it, the other products were misc from my stash.

Now I have a blue card for you, this is for a challenge at Scrapbooking and Crafting Friends card challenge, it was to create a card in blues. The image I used is from the Sew Many Cards shop and can be found here.
Don't you love the little boy angel with his dog, the sentiment says Happiness walks on busy feet. I used some cardstock from the Lime Rickey collection from Basic Grey. I also pop dotted the angel boy on some metallic cardstock from Bazzill, I also used Prisma color pencils, the ribbon and pp is from my stash.

This is a card I created using one of the digital images, I love the images and it is sew much fun to color them and then create a card or layout or altered item with them. This is a mini alblum I made for my sister for her birthday. She loves butterflies and thought she would like this, she has been diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer, and wanted to give her something that would give her comfort. The first page is a comfort verse with a picture of Jesus holding a child. I just love this picture, it is so peaceful and loving. The next page is another saying with a picture of our mother. The next page is the Rejoice scripture and a picture of my sister and I, on a visit I made to New York, which is where she lives. The Rest Scripture has a picture of our brother opposite it, next is a faith quote with a picture of my sisters husband. Then a personal message to my sister with a picture of me on the telephone talking to her, and the final page is another comfort scripture with a love tag opposite the scripture.

Thank you for looking at this one and I so enjoyed making this book, I know I will be making more of these for family and friends.

Don't you love this card, I had fun creating it, the image is a digital stamp image that I inked with
brown in to age it, then I colored the skirt with a very light red and used some flesh color pencil for the skin. I had previously inked the tag for something else but did not use it and it was perfect for this card. I made the card for the
sketchcard challenge #55 at the Card Patterns blog, but was too late for the contest.
I am going to give it to my sister for her birthday.
I really like the pinks and brown together and hope you enjoy this card.
I will be back with my next card challenge before the deadline.

Wishing everyone a great weekend, it has been beautiful here today and feels like some springy weather. I created this layout with a picture of my brother and I, on my visit to NY. Since it speaks of spring with all the butterflies, I thought it was the right layout for this post.
I went to a scrapbook class today with my daughter and we had fun creating together. After the class we met another daughter for lunch and it was nice being with them for the day.
It has been an interesting week for me, I have started the water therapy for my back and shoulder and my shoulder seems to be coming along and not alot of soreness from the exercises. Still battling the sciatica and go back to the doctor for another round of steriod injections, 4 shots - 2 on each side of my lumbar spine, not much fun but hoping with the therapy to have a stronger back, and if it helps hope to get the therapy extended and if not I hope to find a water aerobics class that will continue with strengthening and exercising,

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend with family and enjoying the blessings God has given you. Sometimes I forget to count my blessings and dwell on my problems, there is always someone with a worse problem than I have and that is when I can count my blessings. Peace and love,,,,Karen

Hi everyone, hope each of you is having a wonderful month of February. I am still doing some digital stamp work and here are a couple of fun things. The tag has a cupcakae from Shirley's Two Girls and the Love Stamp is from Queen Kat Designs Stamps. I used Prismacolor pencils and Stickles for the glitz. The birthday card also is a digi stamp, isn't it fun. I used the prismacolor pencils and blending pencil, also some Sakura glaze pen and stickles.

This layout is another February love layout and
was featured on Faithfully Yours faithful friday ezine, along with a couple of other creations.

The girls are sisters and my greatgranddaughters. The title is made on the cardboard ridges inked and then put through the heart with some lace and flower, the love element letters are inked for the look. The lace is a paper lace from GCD studios.

Hope to be bringing some more creations to my blog soon. Blesssings to all...............

This is the beginning of my alblum for Faithfully Yours Year of Blessings, the January theme is theblessing ot time, and I have created a layout of my sister and I and the blessing of visiting her for a week in northern NY. She has terminal ovarian cancer and when I was there she was extremely ill, she has since became well enough to go home to her daughters and am waiting to hear how she is doing. I believe hospice will be visiting also, at least that is the latest information that I have available. I also created the cover for my alblum that says Year of Blessings 2010, and made a card that also represents the theme for January.

Our theme for February is the blessing of Love, so will be working on that and will post on my blog at the end of the month. Dawn at Faithfully Yours has a weekly ezine post and that is where she will post with all the layouts that the design team created and I am proud to be a part of this wonderful team.

I have a few personal things to share also, my PT is going well and I went to the Doctor and shared the MRI on my back and he has referred me to a pain specialist for epidural steriod injections in my back and also for Aquatic PT for lumbar spine stabilization and also for the strenght training on my shoulder. I am waiting for my insurance to approve then I will start that and looking forward to some relief from my chronic back pain. Until I get those appointments set up I will continue the PT for shoulder strengthening on land, as the therapists say.

I also want to wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day and hope to get at least a card posted for you to enjoy.

This is my one of my very first layouts of myself and my sister taken a few years ago. I have featured it here as I just had a visit with her and unfortunately she has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. I did have a week with her and it was a very stressful week as she is very, very ill. Unfortunately she is in a small community hospital with limited testing and she is not willing to go anywhere without her doctor of several years. I feel that she should get a second opinion and go to a larger hospital with better testing procedures, but she wants to stay where she is. I know she is in God's hands and He will keep her in the palm of His hands.
I am on the design team for Faithfully Yours and I will also have a layout featuring my sister and will load it soon, but have to wait until the blog is out for Faithfully Yours. We are doing a Year of Blessings with a different theme each month and the theme for January is my blessing of time.
I should have the post of my layout, the cover for my alblum and a card within the next few days.
My shoulder is healing fine, my rotation is very good and am now in my second round of PT for strenghthening of my shoulder and arm. I hope to be back in full swing with my arm at the end of this session of PT. I can do alot now and am able to scrapbook so am quite happy about that.
Well I hope to be able to get my blog more active in 2010 and will be updating some of my layouts soon. Blessings, Karen

It doesn't seem like Christmas will be her soon.

Here is a card I made before I had my surgery, and am hoping to be able to scrap before too long. I should get the sling off 12/23 when I go to the doctor and then I can drive and scrapbook. I did try to put together a little tag but had some problems doing it with my left hand and only partial use of the right hand, so will just have to be patient and let this shoulder heal.

I did my Christmas shopping online as I was fearful of getting my arm bumped and banged in crowds, plus it is nice to shop online and have it delivered to your door. I need to get some bags and tissue paper to put my gifts in as wrapping them is out of the question, our family chrismas party is soon so need to get that done. I also need to get my Christmas cards in the mail, I have some made, made some last year and did not get them mailed so had a head start for this year, I would like to get my tags made so must get busy, will cut some with the cricut and do a little decorating on them, at least some ribbon and a message....

Happy Thanksgiving to all, I hope everyone had a wonderful day with family and good food. I had a great time at my daughters and had a fabulous meal, my daughter Rebecca did a fantastic job on the meal, turkey with all the trimmings a great feast.

How do you like my little card the gals are from My Graphico digital stamp designs and they are colored with prisma color pencils and crayola pencils, some sakura gel pens to add some glitter and also a few stickles, some flowers and rubons complete my card. I am working on learning the coloring techniques with colored pencil and enjoying coloring again, as a child I loved to color.

I have had to step back and wait awhile though as I had rotator cuff surgery, with bone spur and arthrits cleanup done on Nov. 5th, the surgery went fine and now am in the recovery stage which entails physical therapy for 6 weeks, my first appointment is Nov. 5th and also have to wear a sling to immobilize the shoulder for 6 weeks, it is taking some getting used to and have had to learn to use my left hand as the surgery was on my right shoulder and I am right handed.

I am praying for a quick recovery so I can get back to doing my crafting at least I can still use the computer slowly but can use it and I get better as each day goes by. Take care and I hope to be back with progress reports soon. Blessings and peace to each of you and your family too.

The O Lord card was made for a challenge on National Cardmaking Day and just wanted to share some scripture for the day too. O Lord, O Lord how majestic is your name in all the earth.
This is the scripture on the card, very simple but a powerful praise for my Lord.

This welcome card is one of my new things which is digital stamping and coloring like when I was a child. This image is from Modern Sugar Blvd. .
This card is from the BFF collection from My Graphico and I am just having way too much fun making and coloring these images. I have some more colored and will be making cards or layouts with them. I have been trying different methods of coloring and hope to find one that I like better than others, although it depends on what I want to accomplish as to what medium I use.

I am on a learning curve with this new digital stamp medium. The digital stamps allow me to make them in any size and am not limited to size as I am with regular stamps. I have even printed
some of these on 8 1/2x11 paper and my grand daughters have had fun coloring too. Well I hope today finds everyone ready for the week end,oh this is Thursday but wishing everyone a blessed day.

Reflections Sept 12th

Hi all:

This is my first card using a digital printable stamp, it is from my graphico and is a Sundae. I used watercolor pencils and chalk pencils, and some stickles (love these), now doesn't this look yummy. I will be getting the chance to use more of these as I just found out I am a designer for Scrapbooking and Crafting Friends. For the rest of the card I used a sticker and the raindrops in the corner and a white glaze pen by Sakura for the dots, I also had to put one of my little crochet flowers on the card and some ribbon.

I hope to get some more flowers in my etsy shop, I have a new pattern and have been making some smaller flowers in new colors.

I recently made the design team for Faithfully Yours, so you will see some more of my faith layouts. Faithfully Yours will be doing an Ezine so am excited to be a part of this team.

I am looking forward to some new adventures in scrapbooking, cardmaking and faithbooking.

How do you like this idea book? It is made with Marks Paper Company printable page of papers, and I have made it for their print, cut and paste blog challenge.
For the cover I used 4 green squares and 3 strips of the printed paper. I used a tulip border punch on the first and third strip of paper. The letters are chipboard covered with the marks paper, it was in small strips so it took several to cover the letters. The white/grey was another strip of paper and i used it on the top and bottom of the pink strips. The lightbulb was hand drawn, with the white/grey paper. For the embellishment, I covered two buttons with the two sayings on the paper, the first one reds joy, love & happiness and I stitched the quote on with red thread through the button, the second one reads : If you want to be happy Just Be. For the tabs I cut circles from the journaling paper, the tabs read sketches, techniques, color inspiration and notes.
There is a little bit of a glare on the picture as I used mod podge and the camera picked up the glare.
I know I will get alot of use from my idea book and it was fun using the printable paper from Marks Paper Company.

Hello Friends:
This is a layout that I created for a Cosmo Cricket Challenge and could not get registered on the site sponsoring the contest, so I am sharing it here. The picture was taken at my retirement party a couple of years ago, Iused the Girl Friday line and the flowers were all paper pieced with patterns from Scrapbook, Etc newest magazine. They came out pretty good and were fun to make.........

I hope you are all enjoying this summer weather, it is so hot here in Houston and does not seem to be getting any cooler, in the 100's again today.
Hot, Hot, Hot.............
I am so glad the air conditioner is working as I just seem to be sweating even though I am not outside...

This is the card I created for the blog hop. I chalked the white cardstock in red and blue and did some distressing on the sentiments. The main embellishment is a star,on a round sparkle frame with ribbon, and a mini bingo card, the star in the middle of the bingo card has been done with alcohol inks. This card will be included in a rak with some crochet stars, flowers and butterflies from my etsy store, I will choose the winner(s) on Monday, July 6th so check back for the winners.
